Yarkhun Valley

Situated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ‘s Upper Chitral District, Yarkhun impresses with its mountain ranges and untouched villages.

It takes a bit of effort to enter the valley that extends for several kilometres past the administrative town of Mastuj.

The side valley of Gazin is most certainly worth a detour. Here, you can see the Thoi Pass Mountains, a high-altitude pass that connects the Upper Chitral and Gilgit Baltistan’s Yasin Valley. Due to high altitude the weather remains cold throughout the year. The snowfall is experienced in summers too.

Phandar Lake

Located in Phander Village, Phander Lake is almost too nice to be true. Among light-green trees appropriate to a landscape painting, the teal-coloured lake sits quietly. Phander Lake is not as similar to the number of tourists as the more famous Attabad Lake, despite being insanely beautiful.

Broghil Valley

Broghil Valley, situated far north, very close to Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor, was previously only accessible by trekking or horseback. A dangerous jeep track can enter the once-hidden locale these days, but it still only attracts a handful of visitors during the few months it’s not covered under heaps of snow.

Lahore

Lahore may be a metro, but its treasure chest of historical locations definitely makes it one of Pakistan’s most popular places to visit. The city of the Mughals was Lahore, and so many of their inventions still remain.
Badshahi Mosque, Wazir Khan Mosque and, of course, Lahore Fort are the most famous monuments in the city. Connect to that dozens and dozens of beautifully preserved tombs, colourful shrines, havelis on havelis, and you’ve got Pakistan’s cultural capital.

Hingol National Park

Technically speaking, Hingol National Park is in Pakistan, but it looks more like a Martian planet! The park is over 6,000 km2 and includes absolutely unique rock formations, vast canyons, numerous species of animals, and even a mud volcano.

Deosai Plains National Park

Deosai is commonly referred to as the world’s roof. And it kind of is. The huge plateau is the second-highest on the planet at 4,117 metres (13,497 feet), and is only fully accessible during summer.

Visitors who make the trip to this spectacular spot are met by expansive emerald-green meadows, snow-capped peaks and glistening blue lakes. The Himalayan Brown Bear calls Deosai home and has been seen by several tourists.

Gorakh Hills

Gorakh Hill Station is situated in Sindh, but as a section of the Kirthar Mountains, it is definitely elevated. At 1,734 metres (5,689 feet), some of the most spectacular views in Southern Pakistan come from the top of the hills. For a weekend camping trip, this is the ideal place.
Gorakh Hills is approximately 8 hours from Karachi, but only 2 to 3 hours from Dadu city, making it a better place to start your travel. There is no public transportation, but for someone who is not looking to pitch a tent, there are a few rest houses.
